Blog Post 2/22/19 Classroom Environment

As you prepare your classrooms, please keep in mind that less is more. I see many Pinterest and Instagram posts revealing how colorful and creative their classrooms are going to be. I appreciate all the effort and expense they are putting into their classrooms. There is a great deal of research about how classrooms can be overstimulating especially visually. This is particularly true for students with ADHD. I have been teaching for over 40 years and have had teachers experiment with environmental modifications. The data that they have collected also supports this concept. If you are curious to learn more here are some citations. If you want any advice on how to implement these modifications in your classroom please contact us.
